Rolleston On Dove Youth Facilities: A Survey (August 2004)

The aim of this survey was to determine the facilities available in the village for young people and to help the Parish Council meet their 2004 Parish Plan commitment to support the development of such facilities. As an extension of the Village Appraisal, it was undertaken by the Village Design Statement Group for the Parish Council.

Listed below are clubs and other organisations offering social and sports amenities, and public open spaces. Most facilities are suitable for young people from 11 to 18 but some for younger children are listed. Significant facilities in adjacent parishes are also included.

In the last census (E.S.B.C.) Rolleston had a population of 629 young people 18 years or under.

Number Age (inclusive)
122 1-4
232 5-10
188 11-15
87 16-18

So there are 275 young people in the 11-18 age group.

A good updated building available, but the youth club is not currently meeting due to problems of staffing with enough trained youth leaders on two nights/week, 1 for younger groups and one for older groups.
