Pre-School sessions for children age 3+ are held at the infant site of John of Rolleston Primary School. Morning session 9.00-11.30, lunchtime session 11.30-12.30, afternoon session 12.45-3.15. Rolleston Toddler Group runs several sessions for younger children held in the Methodist Chapel. “In-Betweenies” (bridging the gap between Toddlers and Pre-School), caters for children from the age of 2½, costs £2.50 per session (Thursday 10am until 11.30am). Toddlers have a session on Tuesday and Friday 10am until 11.30am in the Chapel Room. There is a charge, which includes refreshments, of £1.50 per child and 50p for each extra child.

Spring 2008 News

Rolleston Pre-School

Happy New Year!

The children were very busy again in the run up to Christmas. The children of Pre-School, Toddlers and In-betweenies really enjoyed themselves when they decorated large angels for display in St Marys Church ‘Angels For Advent’ celebration. Each group of children decorated an angel and the pre school children went to see their work on display in the church in December. Hopefully you will have been fortunate to attend this wonderful event and see the beautiful angels the children created.

We also held the usual pre-Christmas events including the Nativity which was very well supported and very entertaining with the children putting on a great performance with help from all the staff. At the Christmas Party the children were entertained by Tracey from ‘Music Time’, had party food and ended with a visit from Santa.

By the time you read this we will have held our Annual Pancake Races in conjuction with St Mary’s Church. This event is always well attended and the pre-school children always enjoy taking part in the races, held on the Croft. Thanks to everyone involved.

Our ever popular annual Chocolate Bingo will be held on the Saturday 8th March 1.30 – 3.00pm. Chocolate Bingo is great fun for all the family with a variety of children’s bingo games and a few adult games thrown in as well. There are always lots of prizes and lots of winners so look out for the posters and come along and join us. Any donations of chocolate for the bingo prizes would be gratefully received. Toddlers

The Toddlers and In-Betweenies Christmas party was held at the Scout Headquarters, the children had a great time and were entertained very musically and noisily by Jo Jingles. Santa also paid the children a visit and delivered a present to all the children.

There have been a few changes to the staff of the Toddler section of Pre-School. Fiona Laughton who has been Toddler Liason Officer for a number of years has retired from the position. Thanks to Fiona for all her hard work and welcome to Sharon Harrison who has taken over this role. Toddlers also said goodbye to Rachel Reilly and Justine Holroyd who had run the very busy Tuesday toddlers session last term. We would like to thank them both and welcome Jane Woodward and Andrea Hodson our new Tuesday session co-ordinators.

In-Betweenies

Our Thursday morning (10.00am – 11.30am) In-Betweenies sessions continue to be popular with lots of craft activities, music and themed play.
